 The government has announced special incentive schemes for the tea industries in Assam.  The scheme is being implemented in the country's tea plantations. The scheme is being implemented in the country's tea plantations.
 Under this scheme, assistance will be provided to 370 gardens in 2020-22. The government on Thursday distributed aid to more than 50 tea plantations.  The aid was distributed at a special function held at Janata Bhawan.
 The Chief Minister said the scheme will help entrepreneurs as well as workers.  10,000 workers will be paid Rs 1,50,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.  Smart meters will be installed in the homes of all tea workers.
 He said the state government will recruit new teachers in the tea plantation areas.  The government is building 100 high schools and 25 colleges.  The government will also provide medical facilities in the garden areas.
