News Desk:
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio submitted his resignation to Governor La Ganesan at the Raj Bhavan on Saturday afternoon as the term of the 13th Nagaland Assembly expired.  The Governor accepted Rio's resignation.
After the results of the fourth Nagaland Assembly were announced on March 2, the NDPP and BJP won a majority to form a new government.  The NDPP legislative party meeting in Kohima yesterday re-elected Neiphiu Rio as the party leader.
Governor La Ganesan is likely to invite Neiphiu Rio within a few days to form the next government.
