The government also purchased two dump tankers for each super sucker.
Each Super Sucker costs Rs 1 lakh each for daily use . However, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) did not get promising results from this sophisticated device . Therefore, it is a huge financial burden for the municipal authorities. There is a lack of trained personnel in the Yanshala branch of Bashishta.
The GMC has also failed to pay the salaries of the employees who operated the super suckers for months . The GMC has failed to operate the 10 super suckers brought for garbage disposal from Guwahati sewers and is going to hand over the operation and maintenance to private companies.
