There is a lot of crime in the city.
The Chief Minister said that the number of crimes in the city increased last December.
The Chief Minister said a law would be passed in the Assembly to control crime in Guwahati city.The Chief Minister said businesses with more than five employees in the city must install CCTV cameras in compliance with government rules to control crime.The CM said businesses facing the roads will have to install the CCTV cameras at their own expense.
He also said that CCTV cameras installed by institutions must be approved by the government.The CM also announced the target of installing 1 lakh CCTV cameras in the city by December.
