Senior BJP leader Gulab Chand Kataria has been appointed as the Governor of Assam

Rajasthan Opposition Leader and senior BJP leader Gulab Chand Kataria has been appointed as the next Governor of Assam.
Kataria will take over as Governor after the retirement of incumbent Governor Jagdish Mukhi.
Kataria, who served as the Home Minister of the Rajasthan government from 2014 to 2018, is a senior BJP leader in Rajasthan and a member of the party's Central Executive Committee.
Kataria served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly from 2019 to 2023.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma congratulated Kataria on his appointment as Governor of Assam.
