Large scale police action against child marriage in Assam.  Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has warned those involved in child marriage that the crackdown will continue.
Police have so far arrested 2441 people under the operation.  The police have prepared temporary jails for the accused.  Matia transit camp in Golpara in Assam and a stadium in Silchar have been set up as temporary prisons.  The temporary jail will house people arrested for marrying girls under 18 years of age.  These arrested include 2,441 people from across the state, ranging from priests to qazis, married minors and their families.
