IPS Diganta Bora is the new Commissioner of Police of Guwahati

Diganta Barah, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer acting as Commissioner Secretary, Home and Political Department, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police of Guwahati.
The Home Ministry on Tuesday issued a directive to make massive reshuffles at the top level of the Assam Police.
The city's commissioner of police has been replaced in view of the recent increase in crime incidents in the city and failure to arrest criminals.Diganta Bora is a 2004 batch IPS officer.
On the other hand,Harmeet Singh, who was the Special Director General of Police (Border), has also been given additional responsibility as the Special Director General (Administration).
