National Desk:
India officially took over the presidency of the G-20 on December 1.  The G-20 is a group of the world's 20 largest economies, which prepares a blueprint for development plans.  On assuming its chairmanship, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it is time to be inspired by India's spiritual tradition, which advocates working together to solve global challenges.
In a series of tweets, Prime Minister Modi said that now is not the time to get stuck in the old worn-out mindset.  It is time to be inspired by our spiritual traditions, which advocate working together to address global challenges.
Today, as India begins its G-20 presidency, I have some thoughts on how we want to work in the coming years based on an inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented and decisive agenda for global good.  Inspired by the theme of 'One Earth, One Family, One Future', India's G-20 presidency will work towards promoting greater unity.
He said that together we can face the biggest challenges like terrorism, climate change, epidemics.  India is ready to work to encourage sustainable lifestyles, to keep the global supply of food, fertilizer and medical products out of the realm of politics.  I am grateful to the countries chairing them for the successful previous G-20 presidencies.  I firmly believe that this is the best time to move on.
