In First, Cotton University Officially Enrolls For CUET-UG

In a historic first, Cotton University has officially enrolled for CUET-UG – (Common University Entrance Test) and has become the first State University of Assam to get enrolled into the CUET at all-India level for university undergraduate admissions conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 
As per official notification, Cotton University will be updating the curriculum and credit system for the undergraduate programmes with the introduction of the National Educational Policy (NEP) based Four-Year UG Programme (FYUGP) with effect from the academic year 2023-24.
The notification said, “Merit lists of admission to all First Year UG programmes of 2023-24 in Cotton University will be based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).”
“This is in compliance with orders by the Governor of Assam notified by the Higher Education Department vide Ecf No. 225781/20 dated 27 January 2023 and with approval of the Executive Council of Cotton University vide resolution no. EC/2023/26/09 of the meeting dated 8th February 2023,” the notification said. 
Sanjay Kr Dutta, Academic Registrar, Cotton University, said, “This year we received a communication from the state administration to use the CUET score for admissions of candidates into the undergraduate programmes of Cotton University.”
“The registration process will continue till March 12,” Sanjay Kr Dutta added.
