Former Justice Nazeer became governor 39 days after retirement, seven governors transferred

Justice Syed Abdul Nazeer, who retired from the Supreme Court on January 4 this year, has been appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh.  Earlier, retired Chief Justice P. Sathasivam was made the Governor of Kerala.  On the recommendation of the Central Government, the President has issued notification to appoint Governors in 13 States and Union Territories.
According to the notification issued from Rashtrapati Bhavan, along with the appointment of six governors, the governor of seven states has been transferred.
In the new appointments, retired Lieutenant General Kaivalya Trivikram Parnaik (retd) has been appointed as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.  While Laxman Prasad Acharya has been appointed as the Governor of Sikkim, CP Radhakrishnan of Jharkhand, Shiv Pratap Shukla of Himachal Pradesh and Gulab Chand Kataria of Assam and retired Justice Syed Abdul Nazir of Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Vishwa Bhushan Harichandan to Chhattisgarh, Anusuiya Uike to Chhattisgarh to Manipur, La Ganesan to Manipur to Nagaland, Fagu Chauhan to Bihar to Meghalaya, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to Himachal Pradesh to Bihar, Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais to Maharashtra and retired Brig.  Dr. BD Mishra has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of Ladakh from the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.
