The Central Government has changed the name of the Mughal Garden at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The government has renamed the Mughal Gardens as Amrit Udyan in view of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.
It is worth mentioning that roads named after several Mughal rulers in Delhi have also been renamed. Aurangzeb Road was renamed APJ Abdul Kalam Road.
The Amrit Udyan (Mughal Garden) will be open to the public from January 31 to March 26 this year, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement. The garden will then be opened for farmers only on March 28 and for people with disabilities on March 29. Then on March 30, families of police, security forces and army will get entry to the garden.
