Navy Chief On INS Vikrant: A day before Navy-Day, the annual press conference of the Indian Navy was addressed by Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar in the capital Delhi on Saturday.  During this, he described the commissioning of INS Vikrant as historic.  He said the commissioning of INS Vikrant is a historic event for the country and the Navy and it is truly a torch bearer of Atmanirbharta.  R Hari Kumar said that there are very few countries which have the capability to build an aircraft carrier and now we are one of the elite band.
Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar further said, "It (INS Vikrant) inspires confidence among us and is a shining symbol of our indigenous capability. It has contributed to raising the nation's stature in the world... I  We are sure that Vikrant will proudly fly the tricolor across wide swathes of the Indo-Pacific region in the years to come."
The Navy Chief said, “Recent global events underline that we cannot depend on others for our security needs… The government has given us very clear guidelines on Atmanirbhar Bharat and the top leadership  One of the commitments of the Navy is that we will become an Atmanirbhar Navy by 2047."
