PM Modi On Lachit Borphukan: Under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the birth anniversary celebrations of Lachit Borphukan were celebrated throughout the year, the concluding program of which took place today (November 25) at Vigyan Bhawan in the capital Delhi.  In this episode, today PM Modi participated in the conclusion of the year-long festival on the occasion of the 400th birth anniversary of Lachit Borphukan, the brave commander of the Ahom kingdom of Assam, who took iron from the Mughal army in the 16th century.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave his views on the bravery saga of Barphukan.  PM Modi said that first of all he salutes the great land of Assam, which has given heroes like Lachit to Mother India.  It is his good fortune that I got the opportunity to join this program.  He congratulates and best wishes to the people of Assam and all the countrymen on this occasion.
PM Modi said that today India proudly remembers the historical heroes and heroines of its culture.  Mother Bharati's immortal children like Lachit are our constant inspiration.  He bows down to Lachit on this auspicious occasion.  Today the country has shed the colonial mindset and is filled with pride for its heritage.  India is not only celebrating cultural diversity, but also proudly remembering the heroes of history.
PM Modi further said that even after independence, we were taught the same history, which was hatched during the period of slavery.  After independence there was a need to change the agenda of slavery but it did not happen.  The history of India is not just the history of slavery, it is the history of warriors.  India's history is of victory, valor, sacrifice and great tradition.  His life inspires us to rise above familyism and think about the country.  He had said that no relation is bigger than the country.
