Jalianwala Bagh is a breathtaking event in the history of India's independence.  The tragic incident took place on April 13, 1919, when innocent people were massacred in Jallianwala Bagh, a short distance from the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab.  The British had fired indiscriminately at the unarmed Indians.  This incident is also known as the Amritsar massacre.  Today, 104 years have passed since the massacre.  But even today its wounds are fresh and this painful and sad day is remembered as the darkest event in India's history.
