India's 'Maratha Military Landscape' has been nominated for inclusion in UNESCO's World Heritage List. This landscape was designed by Maratha rulers. This decision was taken at the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee (WHC) going on in Paris.
The United Nations body has made the announcement by posting on social media. UENSCO said, "India's Maratha Military Landscape has been included as a new inscription in UNESCO's World Heritage List."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "It is a moment of immense pride for all countrymen when UNESCO has included 12 forts related to the life of Maharajadhiraj Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the UNESCO World Heritage. Just a few days ago, I had the good fortune of visiting Raigad Fort and experiencing the symbols related to the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj."
