After Minister of State Partha Chatterjee in the SSC recruitment corruption case, his former Private Secretary (OSD) Sukant is in the ED office this time. Sukant was arrested from his home in North 24 Parganas on Saturday morning, an ED source said. He was later brought to the CGO Complex.On Friday, the ED probe team raided the house of WBCS officer Sukant in JC Boso Road area in ward 10 of New Barakpur municipality. After a lengthy search, he was arrested in the morning. This government official was appointed as Perth's personal secretary when he was the education minister. Incidentally, after 27 hours of continuous interrogation from Friday morning, the ED arrested Partha on Saturday morning in the SSC recruitment scam case.
The CBI and ED officials have already started investigations into the SSC recruitment scam in various parts of the city. Following that investigation, ED investigators went to the home of this WBCS officer. According to local sources, ED officials had conducted a long search at Sukant's house. According to ED sources, several necessary documents were recovered from the house of the WBCS officer. However, Sukant's family members declined to comment on the incident.
