A grenade blast occurred in Mendhar sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. Two people were killed in the accident. The deceased were identified as Captain Anand and Junior Commissioned Officer Bhagwan Singh. Six other soldiers were injured at the same time. The court ordered an inquiry into how the grenade exploded.
The soldiers were on duty on the LoC in Mendhar sector on Sunday night, army officials said. The injured were rushed to Udhampur by air but unfortunately one officer and a JCO were killed. Six other injured are undergoing treatment.
