The lady officer we are talking about here is known as the People's Officer . The 23-year-old IAS officer was identified as Smita Sabharwal. Smita Sabharwal has received many praises for her exemplary work as an IAS officer.
Smita is a 2000 batch IAS topper who is an inspiration to IAS aspirants across the country.
Smita is the daughter of retired army officers Colonel PK Das and Purbi Das. Originally from Darjeeling, Smita studied in Hyderabad from Class IX. She secured first place in Class XII (ICSE Board) from St. Anne's, Maredpally, Hyderabad.She completed her B.Com from St. Francis College for Women and prepared for the IAS examination.She failed her first attempt but sat the examination for the second time. At the age of 23, she not only passed the examination but also achieved the fourth rank. Smita then went on to training for the Telangana cadre IAS. Besides joining Chittor as Sub-Collector, she has also worked as Project Director of Kadappa Rural Development Society, Municipal Commissioner of Warangal and Joint Collector of Kurnool.
Smita made her place in the hearts of the people wherever she went. Smita has handled many big responsibilities during her tenure. She is known for her reforms in the state of Telangana.
Smita is also the first female IAS officer to be appointed in the Chief Minister's Office . She is currently the Secretary to the Chief Minister of Telangana. She is also the Secretary of Rural Water Supply Department and Mission Bhagirath.
