Newsdesk:
India on Friday sent a consignment of 1000 metric tonnes of rice to Lesotho as part of humanitarian assistance. This will help in meeting the food security and nutritional requirements of the people of this African country. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that the consignment left from the Nhava Sheva port.
India has earlier also provided such assistance as a sign of goodwill and friendship between the two countries and to mitigate the devastating impact caused during food shortages due to famine and other natural disasters in the sub-Saharan African nation. Under the guidance of South-South cooperation, India and Lesotho are working on development partnership, trade and economic relations, energy, agriculture, health, arts and culture and consular affairs.
