Manipur: 'Mera-Hou-Chongba' festival celebrated in Imphal

People in Manipur celebrated the Mera-Hou-Chongba festival which symbolizes unity among the ethnic groups in the state.  These annual events are held to strengthen ties between the many ethnic groups living in the area.
 The rich heritage of different communities of Manipur was showcased in the cultural programs held throughout the day.  It included traditional dance, music and art.
 Mera-hou-chongba is the most unique festival in this sense because both hill and valley communities come together during it and promote a sense of unity and solidarity.
