Cyclone ASNA: For the first time in 50 years, a cyclonic storm emerged from the ground

Gujarat has been experiencing heavy rains for the past several days.  It is as if the state has been hit by a flood, the floods have made life difficult for people.  However, the IMD had reported the emergence of a deep pressure cyclone near the landward part of the Gulf of Kutch on Friday.  The cyclone is named ASNA.  It is named after Pakistan.  For the first time in nearly 49 years, a cyclone has developed offshore and moved out to sea.  The Met Department said there was no threat from the cyclone.
