Philippines Parliament brought a bill to legalize divorce in the country

The Southeast Asian country of the Philippines is talking about legalizing divorce.  There are currently only two countries in the world where divorce is not legal.  Along with the Philippines, it includes Vatican City.  In both countries, Catholic Christians are not allowed to divorce.  The situation is such that people started talking about conversion even for divorce.  Now the Philippine government is trying to legalize divorce.
Last week, the lower house of the Philippine parliament passed a bill to legalize divorce .  Rep. Edsel Lagman, who crafted the bill, said it would bring freedom to Filipino wives who have been living in bad relationships for a long time.  The bill will go to the Senate in August, where it will also need presidential assent to become law.
