Security forces on Thursday launched a joint counter-terrorism operation in Nader area of Tral in Awantipora based on specific intelligence input. The operation involved the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF.
The Indian Army's Chinar Corps confirmed the operation in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). "On 15 May 2025, based on specific intelligence input from an agency, a cordon and search operation was launched in Nader, Tral, Awantipora. On being challenged, the terrorists opened heavy fire. Heavy exchange of fire took place. The operation is in progress."
