Indian Navy Responds on Hijacked Ship: Indian Navy's warships and aircraft have responded to the hijacking of MV Rouen, a Malta-flagged ship in the Arabian Sea.  The Indian Navy on Saturday (December 16) said it responded to a hijacking incident in the Arabian Sea when six unidentified persons captured the Malta-flagged vessel MV Rouen, which was carrying 18 crew.
The Navy said its warships and maritime patrol aircraft responded swiftly to the hijacking of the Malta-flagged ship MV Rouen on Friday (December 15) evening.  The operation is still going on.
On Friday morning, Indian Navy aircraft flew over the hijacked ship and continuously monitored the movement of the ship, which was seen heading towards Somalia coast in East Africa.  Along with this, on Saturday, the Indian Navy's warship deployed in Gulf of Aden stopped MV Rouen and international maritime agencies are also coordinating in this matter.
May-day is a type of message which is used in ships or aircraft when they are surrounded by some danger.  It is also used to ask for help.
