Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who arrived in India as the chief guest on Republic Day, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. During the meeting, the two discussed several important issues. "India and Egypt are among the oldest civilizations in the world," Modi told a joint press conference with the Egyptian President in Delhi after the talks.
In the presence of the two leaders, the two sides exchanged stamps to mark the 75th anniversary of Indo-Egyptian diplomatic relations. Also, an agreement has been signed between CERT India and CERT Egypt for cooperation in the field of cyber security. They also agreed to enhance cooperation between India and Egypt in the field of information technology.
"We have had an unbroken relationship of many thousands of years. Even four thousand years ago, there was trade with Egypt through the Lothal port in Gujarat," the PM told a joint press conference. "Our relations with Egypt remained stable despite various challenges in world conditions. The foundation of our relationship has remained stable and support has strengthened,Modi said.
