Saudi Arabia Government Punishment: Opposing the government in Saudi Arabia cost a law professor dearly.  He has been sentenced to death for operating a Twitter account and sharing anti-government news on WhatsApp.  The name of this 65-year-old professor is Awad al-Qarni.  Awad al-Karni was arrested by the police on charges of sharing dissident news against the Saudi government led by the new Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
According to The Guardian's report, while the Saudi Arabian government calls Al-Qarni a dangerous and anti-national preacher, his supporters consider him a renowned intellectual.  Al-Karni has two million followers on Twitter.
Al-Karni's son Nasser has revealed the atrocities being perpetrated on his father by the Saudi government.  Nasser is currently living in the UK after fleeing from Saudi Arabia.  After his disclosure, many human rights lawyers and other opponents of the Saudi Arabian government living in exile have come forward.  He says that the authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are constantly taking strict action against those who criticize the government.
