The state government has announced the civilian honours

The state govt. has announced civilian honours. Dr. Tapan Saikia, a prominent cancer specialist, has been awarded the Assam Baibhav Award, the highest civilian honour of the state government.Footballer Gilbertson Changma, gold medalist Nayanmani Saikia, Dr. Binay Kumar Saikia and Joint Secretary, Health Department Dr. Shashidhar Phukan have been awarded the Assam Sourav Award.The third highest award of the Government of Assam, the Assam Gaurav Award, was presented to Dhritimala Deka, who served as a cemetery friend at Navagraha cemetery, Debajit Barman, who showed the path of self-reliance through pig and fish farming.
The Assam Gaurav awards were presented to businessman Manjela, nature expert Binanda Hatibarua, retired professor of Assam Engineering College Atul Chandra Barua, Kalyani Rajbanshi, Sheila Gowla, Dr Yogesh Deuri, young businessman Pankaj Lal Gogoi, Sarveshwar Basumatary, Mangthang Mar,  Dhruvjyoti Sharma, Dayal Goswami and Syed Iftikhar Ahmed.
