International Desk:
The dispute between China and Taiwan is increasing.  China has become more aggressive as soon as US Parliament Speaker Nancy Pelosi returns from Taiwan.  From Thursday, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China has started military exercises in 6 areas around Taiwan.
Meanwhile, Taiwan's Defense Ministry has claimed that the PLA has fired 11 Dongfeng ballistic missiles near Taiwan's northeast and southwest coast.  Taiwan has said that we do not want war but will be ready for it.  About 50 international flights to and from Taiwan have been cancelled.
Here, 5 ballistic missiles fired by China have fallen in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Japan.  Japan's Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi said that this had happened for the first time.  He has lodged a protest against this incident through diplomatic channel.
China has named this military exercise 'Live Firing'.  According to Chinese state media, this military drill is being done just 16 km off the Taiwanese coast.  Real weapons and ammunition are being used in this.
This exercise will run till August 7.  Earlier, China used to do this drill about 100 km away from Taiwan.  But after Nancy's tour, now it has come very close.  Senior Colonel Xi Yi, spokesman for the PLA Eastern Theater Command, said – Long-range weapons will be tested.  The missile will also be tested.
