The upcoming Ram Katha Museum in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, will house a rare 233-year-old Sanskrit manuscript of the Ramayana, written by Maharishi Valmiki. The Ministry of Culture stated that this rare manuscript was gifted to the Ram Katha Museum in Ayodhya on Tuesday. The ministry described it as a historic cultural transfer. Srinivas Varkhedi, Vice Chancellor of the Central Sanskrit University, presented the manuscript of the Valmiki Ramayanam (with Tattvadeepika commentary) to Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Prime Minister's Museum and Ram Katha Library. The ministry said in a statement that the manuscript was written by the first poet, Valmiki. It contains a classical commentary by Maheshwar Tirtha and is written in Sanskrit.
