The festival of Diwali is an important part of Indian culture and is celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the country. Meanwhile, UNESCO, a United Nations organization, has included it in its Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
A UNESCO meeting was held at the Red Fort in Delhi. During this meeting, UNESCO decided to include Diwali in the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) list.This is a proud moment for India. This is the first time a UNESCO meeting has been held in the country. Diwali, a hallmark of Indian culture, has now become a part of ICH.
