PETA India has chosen award-winning Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon as its 2025 "Person of the Year" for her meat-free pledge, her strong commitment to protecting wildlife, her continued efforts in support of community animals, and her compassionate efforts to promote compassion and empathy for all living and sentient beings.
Earlier this year, Raveena Tandon, along with her daughter, actress Rasha Thadani, and PETA India, gifted a lifelike mechanical elephant to the Thousand Pillar Jain Temple in Karnataka, so that the mechanical elephant could be used in all the temple's religious rituals and worship, instead of the real elephant.
