The tenure of Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Chairman Dr. Sameer V. Kamat has been extended for another year. According to an official order of the government, he will now remain in the post of DRDO chief till 31 May 2026. This decision was taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet of the Central Government on Monday.
This is the second tenure extension given to Dr. Kamat. He was earlier given a one-year extension in May 2024, which was till 31 May 2025. Now this new extension will be effective from June 1, 2025 till May 31 next year or until a new order comes, whichever is earlier.
