Eco-sensitive zone declared around Shikari Devi Wildlife Sanctuary

The Shikari Devi Wildlife Sanctuary has diverse forests and habitats ranging from 1,800 to 3,400 meters in altitude and is located in the Himalayas.The ESZ covers 43 villages, where human activities will be limited and sustainable practices like organic farming will be promoted.There are restrictions on commercial mining, hydropower projects, and deforestation in ESZs, while sustainable practices will be encouraged.Shikari Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Shikari Devi Temple in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. It was established in 1974.
