On September 9, 2024, Nepal officially became the 101st member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).  The document of endorsement was handed over to ISA officials in New Delhi by Nepal’s in-charge d’affaires, Surendra Thapa.  This membership is an important step for Nepal in its commitment to promote renewable energy and address climate change.

The International Solar Alliance (ISA) is an alliance of solar resource-rich countries, launched in 2015 by India and France during the COP21 Paris Agreement.  ISA aims to promote solar energy globally and reduce dependence on fossil fuels by facilitating the deployment of solar technologies.
