The government has started the process of forming the commission and corporation ahead of the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh.  State Women Commission has been constituted in UP.  The State Women's Commission has been constituted with a chairperson, two vice-chairpersons and 25 members.  Babita Chauhan has been appointed as the new chairperson of the commission.  Mulayam Singh Yadav's daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav has been made the vice-president.  Charu Choudhary has also been made vice-president.  She will remain in office for one year.
 Babita Chauhan is originally from Agra.  She is a resident of Professor Colony in Hariparvat.  Babita Chauhan has held several important posts in the Bharatiya Janata Party in the past.  Babita Chauhan is the vice-president of the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha.  She is also a member of the UP BJP executive.  Babita Chauhan is active in politics as well as social workers and voluntary organisations. She is also a Zila Panchayat member from Kheragarh.  Babita Chauhan's husband Jitendra Chauhan is the International Director at Lions Club International. She is also involved in several social welfare organizations.
