Karnataka cabinet has approved the renaming of Ramnagar district to Bengaluru South, according to state Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil. The decision followed an announcement made two months ago by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who stated that Ramnagar would be merged with Bangalore and renamed as Bangalore South.
