 Gujarat CM  Bhupendra Patel has launched the "Shramik Basera" scheme, an affordable housing project for construction workers. The scheme provides temporary accommodation to labourers at a nominal rent of Rs 5 per day, with free accommodation for children under 6 years. The initial phase will benefit 15,000 workers across 4 cities, with plans to expand to 3 lakh workers across the state in the next 3 years, with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore. The project aims to provide decent living conditions to construction workers at an affordable cost.
