Assam made history today in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 11,000 folk artists staged the folk dance of Assam, Bihu dance, in the presence of the PM. PM Modi witnessed the Bihu dance performed by a record over 11,000 dancers and drummers in Assam. And described it as unforgettable, unprecedented. PM Modi arrived in a chariot to watch the programme.
Assam entered the Guinness World Records with 11,304 dancers and drummers dancing 'Bihu' and playing 'Dhol' at the same venue. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma said it was the biggest folk dance event. The performers performed in the presence of a judge from Guinness World Records headquarters in London and achieved this global achievement for 'Bihu' dance and 'Dhol'.
