Tata Motors will update its existing model lineup in the coming months. Nexon, Harrier and Safari SUVs will get mid-life updates. Altroz, meanwhile, will get a CNG version and a racer edition. Tata Punch CNG is also to be launched. However, the carmaker is yet to confirm the launch date of the new models. However, according to media reports, Tata Altroz CNG, Punch CNG and Altroz Racer versions could be launched by June 2023.
Tata Altroz CNG and Punch CNG versions will get 1.2L petrol engine and factory fitted CNG kit. This engine will generate 77PS max power and 95Nm peak torque on CNG. It will be accompanied by a 5-speed manual gearbox. Tata said the Altroz CNG and Punch CNG will have a new dual cylinder setup and each cylinder will have a capacity of 30-litres.
Both models will be equipped with single advanced ECU (engine control unit) and direct state CNG in their segment with leakage detection technology. Features such as fast refueling, fuel auto switch and modular fuel filters will also be offered. Altroz CNG will compete with Maruti Baleno CNG in the market.
