National Desk:
During the hearing of cases in the Supreme Court on Tuesday morning, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud got tough with a lawyer who tried to circumvent the system.  "Don't mess with my rights," the CJI told the lawyer.
In fact, the counsel sought mention of the matter before another bench to get an early date, while the matter was already listed by the CJI for April 17 .  The lawyer sought an early date, which the Chief Justice refused.  The lawyer still refused, which angered the CJI.
The CJI asked that your date is on April 17. Do you want to mention it before the second bench to get a date on April 14?  The counsel then said that a similar case was raised by the court yesterday and some new cases were also mentioned.
"We are giving a date of April 17," the CJI said.  It will be heard on the 17th.  Don't mention it anywhere else to get a quick date.
