Raju Das of Assam has been appointed as the Honorary Secretary of the Sangeet Natak Academy.Raju Das took over as the Secretary of the Academy on Monday.Raju Das, a resident of Kumarpur village in Sivsagar, studied music from Lucknow and obtained his postgraduate degree.He joined the Sangeet Natak Academy in 2005 as a Program Officer.Raju Das, who worked for 10 years to establish a Satriya Center in Guwahati, was later appointed as the Assistant Secretary (Coordination) of the Academy.He has also played a pioneering role in the promotion of classical dance and music across the country.
