The government on Wednesday (March 15) issued a statement on India's first human space mission. The first of four abort missions with the test rocket of the mission is scheduled for May this year, Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Science and Technology, told the Lok Sabha.
The first test rocket mission, TV-D1, is scheduled for May 2023, Jitendra Singh said in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha. This is followed by the second test rocket TV-D2 mission in the first quarter of 2024 and the first unmanned mission of the spacecraft (LVM3-G1).
The Union Minister further said that the next series of test vehicle missions (TV-D3 and D4) and LVM3-G2 missions with robotic payloads are planned. Crew missions are planned by the end of 2024 based on the results of successful test vehicle and uncrewed missions. He said that spacecraft related activities have made good progress after the lockdown.
