Lieutenant General Daljit Singh got the post of top military doctor

Lieutenant General Daljit Singh took charge as the Director General of the Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) on Wednesday.  He is now the senior most military doctor in India.  Before being promoted to the top post, Gen Singh was serving as the Director General Medical Services (Army).
  An alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, Daljit Singh was commissioned into AFMS in December 1983.  Officials said that he has a Masters degree in Pediatrics from Pune University and a Doctorate degree in Neonatology from PGIMER Chandigarh.
  He has held several professional appointments during his career spanning 38 years as a renowned Pediatrician and Neonatologist.  The General Officer has made important administrative and staff appointments out of which 7 is commanding Air Force Hospital Kanpur.  These include Principal Medical Officer at Headquarters Central Air Command Allahabad, Assistant Chief at Headquarters Integrated Defense Staff New and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Medical) at Air Headquarters New Delhi.
