Surekha Yadav, who created history by running Vande Bharat Express

Asia's first woman loco pilot Surekha Yadav has created a new history by running Vande Bharat Express.  Surekha Yadav drove the Solapur-CSMT Vande Bharat Express train on Monday (March 13) and with this she has also become the first woman loco pilot to drive the Vande Bharat Express.  Surekha Yadav has the title of the first woman loco pilot not only of the country but also of Asia.
  Surekha Yadav, a resident of Satara, Maharashtra, became India's first woman train driver in 1988 and has been honored with several awards at the state and national level for her achievements.  According to the information, in April 2000, the then Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee started Ladies Special local train for the first time in four metropolitan cities, whose crew included Surekha Yadav.  Apart from this, an important event in her career happened on 8 March 2011, when Surekha took a train named Deccan Queen from Pune to CST Mumbai on International Women's Day.
  Information about Surekha's achievement was shared by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Twitter.  He tweeted with Surekha's picture, 'Smt. Surekha Yadav, the first woman loco pilot of Vande Bharat Express.'
