Indian Railway Train Ticket Concession For Senior Citizen: There is great news for senior citizens traveling by train.  A special update has come out on the exemption given to senior citizens by the Railways.  The exemption given to senior citizens on train tickets can be restored once again.  Men of 60 years or more and women of 58 years or more used to get the benefit of huge discount in train tickets from the Railways, which can be started again.
The Parliamentary Committee on Indian Railways has urged the Government to restore the exemption from the Railways side.  The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Railways, headed by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Radha Mohan Singh, has urged the Railway Ministry to sympathetically consider restoring the concession given to senior citizens while traveling in trains.
Before March 2020, Railways used to give 50 per cent concession in fare to women and 40 per cent concession to men in all classes for traveling by rail in case of senior citizens.  The minimum age limit for elderly women to get this exemption from the Railways was 58 years and for men was 60 years, but after the Corona period, all kinds of concessions given to them have been abolished.
