Senior journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik has passed away. Ved Pratap Vaidik breathed his last at the age of 78. He died of a sudden heart attack while taking a bath late last evening. Ved Pratap Vedik was a big journalist and well-known face of the country. He had interviewed terrorist Hafiz Saeed in 2014.
Ved Pratap Vaidik was born in 1944 in Indore. He started journalism from 1958 itself. He was a big journalist and political analyst of the country. He was also associated with Navbharat Times and Press Trust of India. He did his PhD in International Politics from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Ved Pratap Vaidik was visiting professor in many Indian and foreign research institutes and universities. Vaidik ji has a son in his family who does his own business and his daughter is a professor.
Ved Pratap Vaidik did Satyagraha for Hindi in 1957 at the age of just 13 and went to jail for the first time. He wrote his research book on International Politics in Hindi, because of which the School of International Studies (JNU) stopped his scholarship and showed him the way out. There was a huge uproar in the Indian Parliament on this issue in 1966-67. After this, on the initiative of the Indira Gandhi government, the rules of JNU were changed and they were withdrawn.
