CJI Chandrachud On E-Court: Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud addressed a conference on 'Smart Courts and Future of Judiciary' on Saturday (March 11). During the meeting, he spoke mainly on the use of technology in the judiciary and the future of e-courts. He said that e-courts are the judiciary of the future, where digitalisation, e-filing.
Chief Justice Chandrachud said that in a diverse country like India, the justice system also needs to ensure that everyone gets timely and effective justice. "With that objective in mind, it has become imperative that we use technology to bridge the gap between citizens and the justice system," he continued in his address.
. The CJI further said that two phases of e-court projects have been completed and in the third phase a strong nationwide monitoring mechanism will be developed. “It targets paperless courts, as well as a focus on live streaming (of hearings) to improve transparency, access and accountability,” he said.
