Shiv Pratap Shukla will take oath of office and secrecy as the 22nd Governor of Himachal Pradesh. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Raj Bhavan in Shimla at 2 pm. All preparations have been completed. Shiv Pratap Shukla is going to take the oath in Sanskrit. Shukla will take oath in Sanskrit language.
Shiv Pratap Shukla will be the third Governor to take Sanskrit language. Earlier, Himachal Pradesh's 13th Governor Vishnu Kant Shastri and 18th Governor Acharya Devvrat took oath in Sanskrit. Vishnu Kant Shastri was the Governor of Himachal Pradesh from 2 December 1999 to 23 December Acharya Devvrat, meanwhile, took over as Governor from August 12, 2015 to July 21, 2019.
