The Charideo Maidam will soon be recognized as a World Heritage Site.
UNESCO will award the recognition.
CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said this at a press conference at Janata Bhawan.In 2014, the first proposal to recognize the maidam as a World Heritage Site was submitted.The country will send nominations to UNESCO this year only for Assam.The nomination will be sent to Paris.
UNESCO observers will visit Charideo in September.
