The Supreme Court Collegium, in its recommendation letter, has recommended senior advocate Saurabh Kripal to be made a judge of the Delhi High Court.
The Collegium has written that what he has done as a lawyer in the matter of talking about the rights of LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex) people is a "milestone". Saurabh Kripal has not hidden his identity as a homosexual.
Legal experts have again welcomed the decision to recommend Saurabh Kripal's name.
The Collegium is a committee headed by the Chief Justice of the country, Justice Dr. Dhananjay Yashwant Chandrachud. Justice Chandrachud has once again agreed to the proposal of Saurabh Kripal's name for the post of Delhi High Court judge.
